Work inside an item

Keep the description, steps, notes, files, discussion, and help in one place.

Make the outcome clear

The description explains the work: what you want to achieve, why it matters, and what a useful result looks like. It gives you a starting point when you open the item again.

A clear description also helps when you use AI to understand the item or propose a next step.

Use sub-items for the smaller steps

Break a larger task into practical sub-items. Keep each step specific enough to start without replanning the whole piece of work.

Proposal steps

Confirm scope. Draft an outline. Add the timeline. Review the assumptions. Prepare the final version.

Keep the supporting context close

Use notes for decisions and useful details, and attachments for the files that support the work. The Item Workspace also brings discussion and relevant AI assistance into the same context.

For shared work, Business includes team collaboration. Keep questions and decisions with the item they affect so others can understand the reasoning.

Find the next action

Review the description and open steps before continuing. Ask AI to help you break down the work, shape a first draft, or identify information you still need. Review the suggestion before using it.
