Organise projects and items

Connect a bigger outcome to work you can move forward.

Start with the project outcome

A project brings related work together. Give it a name that is easy to recognise and describe what finishing it should achieve.

Example project

“Website launch” with the outcome: publish the five agreed pages and check the contact journey before sharing the site.

Break the outcome into items

Create items for the pieces of work behind the outcome. Use a concrete action in each title and keep the supporting information in the item description, notes, or attachments.

For the website launch, useful items might include “Finalise the homepage copy,” “Review the mobile layout,” and “Check the contact journey.” Use sub-items when one of these needs several smaller steps.

Add priorities and deadlines

Use priorities to make the important work visible and deadlines to record when it needs to be ready. Review the plan when the scope changes so the dates still reflect the work involved.

List, board, and calendar views give you different ways to look at the work. Choose the view that helps with the decision in front of you.

Choose the capacity you need

Free includes 3 projects and 100 active items. Pro includes 25 projects and 1,500 active items. Business includes 500 projects and 25,000 active items, together with team collaboration.

Compare all plan allowances before choosing the capacity that fits your work.
